Meet Monat: The Business

Updated: Feb 28, 2022

Before this opportunity landed in my lap, I was putting in the work of two full time jobs running my successful photography business and managing the ins and outs of being an autism mom. I had staff working in my home, paperwork to tackle, and therapies to learn and attempt to implement with my children between the beyond full time business I was trying to run. To top it off, I was pregnant with my fourth child. My stress was at a ten.

My hair had been thinning from this stress and the pregnancy, and I had been trying every product I could get my hands on to help. Nothing worked. I had seen a few people post about Monat on social media and was thinking I’d like to try it but I just never reached out to any of them.

One night I was sitting on my couch eating a bowl of black olives-my number one pregnancy craving- and a former photography client of mine reached out to me asking if I would want to sell Monat with her. I immediately said no. I was too busy. I didn’t want to sell anything. I didn’t have time. I didn’t want to be that girl. BUT… I did want my hair back.

I was curious, so I asked her about the Market Partner Product Packs, knowing that had to be the best deal. She sent over the details and I bought the biggest one. No… I didn’t have loads of money. No, I didn’t hit submit without reservation… in fact, I always say I had to close my eyes and squeeze my buttcheeks to do it. But I did… because I wanted to see a change in my hair and I knew I needed more than one bottle of shampoo and conditioner to make the difference.

After signing up, I got curious… what could a person make selling Monat? What if I could help someone like me? I dug into the compensation plan and quickly found out that this was a bigger opportunity than I had ever thought. It was real and had the ability to pay me a real income.

Long story short, I made a choice. If I wanted something to change, something had to change.

After all, I was due with my fourth baby and headed into the slowest season of the year for a photographer. My income was about to drop and I didn’t have a backup plan of how to supplement it. My husband had lost his job and had taken another one for much less money, and we were strapped financially. What if this could provide just enough for groceries? What a blessing that would be.

I dove in right away and my dream of providing groceries turned into providing our mortgage payment… and after that, it turned into something much much bigger.

You see, I had one dream that I couldn’t give my kids. I lived on the border of WI/MN and I knew that Minnesota had far better services for my special needs children. It was a known fact. The opportunities there outweighed Wisconsin by years. But I had a problem… I couldn’t give it to them. I didn’t make enough of an income to afford a double mortgage in MN. It was a big step. Only a couple of months into running hard in this business, it dawned on me….what if I could do this… what if I could give them the best? There is nothing harder than knowing that there is something better for your children, but you aren’t able to give it to them. I realized that I had capped my income. I told myself I didn’t have an opportunity but I really did… right under my nose.

Three months after my choice to join, we were able to list our home and move to Minnesota shortly thereafter. My children were able to enroll in the best schools and therapy programs, and we were given help and services we never had before. More than that… I finally felt like I was giving my kids their best. I am so thankful.

So, how did I do it with my schedule?

I think that is the best part! This company makes it so simple. I didn’t have to host parties, purchase inventory, meet quotas, deliver products, or order monthly to get a check. I could simply have conversations, share what I loved, place an order, and Monat shipped the products straight to my customers. I get paid for what I do. The flexibility to choose how much and when you put in the time allowed me to tuck in a conversation here and a message there in the pockets of my day. I would work while nursing my newborn, while waiting for dinner to come out of the oven, and yes… even when I had to use the bathroom. I fit it in by making it a priority, and it provided huge for me. The company gives us everything we need on a silver platter, and it is up to us to determine how successful we are by showing up every day. Do this… get that… check off this… get this… Simple, focused work.

Since joining, I have been so blessed. I am an Emerging Founder and I have earned a Cadillac as well as countless trips around the world. I was able to retire from my photography business and I am now available for my children whenever they need me. One of the best parts is the community I have gained! I get to help women like me build something bigger for their family. We support each other, we cheer for each other, and we connect with each other. It is a huge blessing personally and professionally. On top of all of that, the personal development and training I have received is top notch and I am a better person because of it.

I don’t know your story… maybe it is like mine, and maybe it isn’t. My biggest encouragement to you is that if you are adding up grocery prices in the ais

le before you checkout, not able to take your kids on a vacation, your retirement is no where you want it to be, or you desire to be home with your kids… whatever it is, you have a choice. You can do this. You can make a change in your life to give your family something better. Don’t be the one to stand in the way of your dreams. Remember, if something needs to change, something needs to change.

I will be here to help you the whole way.
